The remodel and addition to this historic bungalow in Clarksville balances preservation with the client's need for more space through a carefully considered second-floor expansion.  The decision to go vertical was informed by the client's desire to maintain the generous yard and longstanding relationship between the home and landscape. Inside, the material palette embraces texture and authenticity through the complete absence of sheetrock, with interiors composed instead of exposed shiplap, painted wood, and hand-applied plaster, creating spaces that feel layered, tactile, and deeply connected to the home’s historic character.
